SHIRA HOFFMAN

Writers Guild of America West

Hey, I’m Shira.

I’m a writer, producer, and project manager with 15+ years of professional experience across film, television, and digital media, plus an entire childhood’s worth of journal entries that my mom read like they were the new Sally Rooney novel. It was deeply violating. Therapy has helped.

I’ll write anything — scripts, articles, blogs, copy, punch-ups, social posts, email blasts, doctor’s notes to get you out of going into the office. I have no ego. I do have deadlines.

My film and television work includes staffing on Loudermilk (Netflix) and The Freak Brothers (Tubi), with projects in development at Village Roadshow Entertainment, WWE, MGM, Kids at Play, Brat TV, AwesomenessTV, Wink Animation, Dakota Pictures, and other places that enjoy paying writers.

I’ve worked with a wide range of talent, including Academy Award–winning writer/director Peter Farrelly, Emmy Award winner Lisa Kudrow (fun fact: I somehow wound up watching the Kavanaugh hearings with her, but that’s a story for another time), America’s sweetheart Jennifer Love Hewitt, and all around goddess Queen Latifah.

My digital work includes content creation and copy for projects with TikTok, FX, IMDb, NVE Experience Agency, and ATTN Media, where I wrote for prominent internet voices like Barack Obama (yes, that one).

I also run a thriving Substack, Smotherhood, chronicling my slow, loving descent into madness as a mom to a toddler and a human woman living on planet Earth during… *gestures wildly at everything.*

Creating and storytelling is what I do best — and what I love most. So let’s make something amazing together.
